Coaching Skills
Coaching is an increasingly important role for supervisors in work environments that demand accountability and performance. Coaching empowers people, allowing employees to take responsibility for their own performance, and supports employees for continued improvement. The coaching principles The Performance Group draws from in our coaching workshops will get results through increased commitment and accountability of individuals and work teams, as well as develop the coaching skills required to work with others to achieve higher levels of performance and productivity.
Some of our course offerings:
- Coaching Conversations
Coaches help others achieve their goals through conversations that help explore, problem solve and plan action. Effective coaches use their understanding of how others learn and set goals to ask questions and provide guidance that get results. In this two-day workshop you will develop and apply the tools of the coaching conversation. - Coaching for Commitment
Coaching is an increasingly important role in an environment that demands accountability and performance. This one-day workshop will provide you with an overview of the coaching skills required to work with others to achieve higher levels of performance and productivity. - Coaching for Critical Thinking
Coaching for Critical Thinking approaches coaching as a tool to change behavior through conversations that explore and expand the thinking underlying performance. In this course you will learn cognitive and critical thinking theory that is enhanced by application practice to help you develop your own coaching perspectives and skills. - Coaching in Action
Coaching is a set of communication skills based on insight, analysis and synthesis. While a workshop can provide an introduction to the communication skills, developing coaches benefit from practice and feedback. The proposed action learning approach provides coaches and partners with assistance in developing their skills to capitalize on the formal learning processes. This approach supplements the two-day Coaching Conversation workshop with Coaching in Action sessions, where coaches receive coaching on their process, approach and skills from the coach/facilitator, performer partners and coach peers. - Coaching Services
