Self-Management
Self-Management and Wellness refer to methods, skills and strategies by which individual employees can effectively direct their own activities toward the achievement of objectives and includes goal-setting, planning, scheduling and task tracking, and self-evaluation. The overarching theme of all these courses is enabling participants to understand what they can control or influence and what they cannot.
While The Performance Group gears such workshops toward improving these skills in the work environment, it is understood that many of the concerns in these areas at work also result in concerns at home, and thus a comprehensive, holistic approach is most often taken.
Some of our course offerings include:
- The Excellent Assistant
The Excellent Assistant is a program developed specifically for employees who provide support to others in their organization. This dynamic program builds and enhances skills for increased accountability, contribution and success. This 2.5 day program’s objective is to build and enhance your skills so that you can perform your jobs more effectively and efficiently. - Beyond Excellence
A follow-up to the Excellent Assistant, Beyond Excellence is a 2.5 day program that covers Managing Your Attitude, Managing Issues, Managing People and Your Own Professional Image Management. Within these topics it touches on organization techniques, networking and working with the different generations. - Goal Setting
With the frequency of change increasing in both our life and in the workplace, the need for clear roles and goals is more critical now than ever before to ensure results and high performance are achieved. Having clear roles and setting clear goals has been proven to be a “best practice” in achieving extraordinary success. This course will help you set goals and begin the journey towards achieving them. - The Sandwich Generation
Does your typical day include leaving work early to pick up blood-pressure medicine for Dad, before racing to catch your son’s high school football game, then heading home to worry about missed work time? At a time when your career is reaching a peak and you are looking ahead to your own retirement, you may find yourself in the position of having children still at home or having to help your children with post-secondary expenses while at the same time looking after the needs of your aging parents. Squeezed in the middle, you’ve joined the ‘sandwich generation’. - Stress Management
We all have “hot buttons” and things that stress us out. We need to be able to recognize the early warning signs that we are under stress and develop effective ways to respond to stress. This workshop uses checklists and participant experiences to develop a stress management plan using positive stress buster skills. - Time Management & Managing Multiple Priorities
Are you managing your job or is your job managing you? How do you know? We will take the time to analyze your current work methods to identify “Where did the day go?” and to identify practical strategies to get back into control. Participants will examine the time wasters in their life and identify ways of getting back in control of their life. - Networking for Success
Networking is an art but an art that can be learned. Effective networking enables you to gather important client or supplier information and potential career opportunities. This session will show you how to make the most of your networking opportunities and how to turn these into part of your own networking strategies.
